YFS Scholarship (AAFS Members only)

The Brazilian Academy of Forensic Sciences (ABCF), and the Federal Forensic Expert’s Association of Brazil (APCF) in cooperation with the The Center for Forensic Science Research and Education (CFSRE) at the Fredric Rieders Family Foundation and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), hereby establish the Young Forensic Scientist Scholarship for Interforensics 2017.

The purpose of the Young Forensic Scientist Scholarship is to sponsor the participation of two upcoming forensic scientists from the AAFS to partipate in the ABCF Interforensics meeting, to be held in Brasilia, the Capital of Brazil, from May 22nd to May 25th, 2017.

To apply candidates must meet the following criteria: be under 35 years of age on May 22nd, 2017 and be an AAFS member (student, associate, trainee affiliate, or full member).

The Application Process:

  1. Applications must be submitted by March 25th, 2017.
  2. Papers from any field of the forensic sciences are eligible;
  3. Submissions must be written in either English or Portuguese.
  4. Submissions must be no more than 500 words.

The Scholarship consists of:

Air tickets (coach) for the selected authors; hotel stay during the event; breakfast, lunch and dinner at the associated venue; free registration for the event; airport pick-up and a student guide to magnificent city of Brasilia.
